Thank you, Brett. I sometimes muse about what sort of person I would have turned out to be had I not read those two works. I can't help wondering to what extent they reinforced what was already in my nature, and how I would have lived my life had I not read them.
By the way, I enjoyed reading your first post and I hope you manage to ge more…

That is some pretty deep stuff, but very true. Always best to keep those lessons in mind before you get to where you really want to be. Very nice article! more…

There is no reason why he shouldn't, I quite agree.

That's quite alright. Use my blog for whatever discussions you like.
Very sensible to go walking with a loo roll. I've usually got tissues with me, so I use those if caught out. Actually, this is not the way I visualised this post going. :)) more…

Why shouldn't he. He is as human as everybody else, and if you have to go, better in the woods, then on the street. This is what I experienced several years ago with an old Japanese lady in a kimono. She walked in front of me, suddenly she squaded down and did her buisness, right there on the side walk. Couldn't believe my eyes! more…

I don't go walking with out loo-roll. I thought of using leaves but was never sure if there might be tiny little insects on them! Yukky! And I try to dispose of everything very tidily - :))
Sorry 'Another Country' using you blog for a discussion about loo-paper - but YOU started it! more…

Yes, I did. Couldn't have him thinking that he'd caught me out not telling the truth, could I? But it amused me whilst it lasted. As I said, easily amused. more…

I'd rather think of it as eco-friendly re-cycling than Shi....g in woods.
Truoble is - in England, the country is so small, when you think you're all alone and can get down to business (so to speak) someone comes strolling by the very tree you're hiding behind.
It was a bluff, between you and your son, did you ever explain more…

To a lesser extent, yes :) Although in an earlier episode, the vicar in my Norfolk soap-opera was caught by one of the scullery maids tipping his pisspot out of a window at the top of the church tower. more…

Sorry, can't believe that - It is a well know fact that once the person of the papa is popified, poop production ceases, food-waste and other pap being miraculously transmuted into heavenly incense and automatically released whenever the choir hits a sufficiently high note. :)
Just ask the vicar of more…

Looks like you may have had a lucky escape there. I'm glad that the whole thing was so sensitively handled and that you were in no way scarred by the experience. I think the way adults react has a huge effect on how the children involved feel about what happened (or could have happened) to them. more…

When I was about 7 or 8 years old I was walking home from school with my friend and a man approached us and suggested we meet him at the local recreation ground where there were swings and slides. He must have followed us all the way from school because he did not approach us until we were in quite an isolated place amomg the apple orchards.

It's strange but I can't remember anything about him. I've some vague idea that he was maybe middle-aged, but can't be sure. No idea what he looked like. Obviously he didn't make an impression on me. I just remember that the car was black, and I think maybe the seats were leather. more…

It's incredible how easily that can happen. Children do absent-mindedly get hold of hands they shouldn't, but for the adult to be equally absent-minded seems strange. But as you say, who knows? I'm glad you looked up so soon, or it might have ended quite differently.
